  • What is the ecclesial relevance of Missa ?
    • "Just as the world of the media can sometimes seem foreign to the Christian message, it offers however also unique opportunities to proclaim the salvific truth of Christ to the very whole human family. Consider, for example, the transmissions by satellite in mondovision of the religious ceremonies which often reach a global audience, or the positive capacities of Internet to disseminate religious information and teaching beyond all barriers and borders. Such a broad audience would have exceeded the most daring imagination of those who preached the Gospel before us. An active and imaginative engagement in the media by the Church is thus necessary for our time. Catholics should not be afraid to open wide the gates of social communications to Christ, so that of his Good News can be heard from the top of the roofs of the world !"
Extract from the message of Jean-Paul II for World day of communications of May 27, 2001 "Shout it over the roofs": the Gospel at the era of the world communication.
