Apostleship of Prayer
Let us pray with the Holy Father Benedict XVI

Benoit XVI
2009
The general intention of prayer of the Pope for the month of january is: That the family may increasingly be a place of formation in charity, personal growth, and the transmission of the faith.
His missionnary intention is: That Christian denominations may strive for full unity so as to be more credible witnesses of the Gospel to a world in need of a New Evangelization.

Montreal Synod

I. Communities that proclaim Jesus Christ to the world of today

Welcoming all who seek God

The routes of men and women are the paths of God. Those who seek God are many and their itineraries numerous.

Subsequent to the work of the Synod, I promulgate the following proposals:

1. That all pastoral leaders, in a spirit of openness and respect for differences, be attentive to the spiritual needs of people who are seeking God and use simple everyday language. (A-01)

2. That the Church of Montreal express openly its belief that salvation through Jesus Christ is available to all men and women, acknowledge the value of other religions and teach its members respect for all persons seeking God. (A-03)

3. That the Church of Montreal intensify its partnership with Christian Churches in matters of Christian education in the schools and of social justice, in prayer services and pastoral projects that meet the needs of our pluralistic and multiethnic society. (A-02)

4. That pastoral leaders make available objective information on different beliefs and on the different religious groups present in our milieu and treat with understanding people who are tempted to leave Catholicism as well as those who wish to return to it. (A-04)
