Apostleship of Prayer
Let us pray with the Holy Father Benedict XVI

Benoit XVI
2012
The general intention of prayer of the Pope for the month of may is: The Family. That initiatives which defend and uphold the role of the family may be promoted within society.
His missionnary intention is: Mary, Guide of Missionaries. That Mary, Queen of the World and Star of Evangelization, may accompany all missionaries in proclaiming her Son Jesus.

Montreal Synod

II. Communities that celebrate their faith and give thanks for the gift of God

Liturgical celebration is an artistic expression of life. It exalts life's song and gives it a sacred form. Through it, the life of each woman and man is inscribed in the sacred history of the People of God.

Baptism and Confirmation

Baptism makes us members of the Church. It establishes a fundamental relationship between the human person and Christ. " All baptized in Christ, you have all clothed yourselves in Christ" (Gal 3:27).

Confirmation endows the baptized with a special gift of the Holy Spirit that empowers them to be true witnesses of Christ.

Subsequent to the work of the Synod, I promulgate the following proposals:

21. That the Church of Montreal give a more solid base to the preparation of children for Baptism by improving meetings with parents and by ensuring adequate follow-up to the Sacrament. (A-13)

22. That, as we consider the age of new evangelization, the Church of Montreal sensitize Christians to the requirements of their baptism: quest for personal holiness and apostolic responsibility in regards to evangelization in all areas where they live and work. (F-14)

23. That the Church put in place a better program of preparation of youth for the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist. (A-12)
